CloftS Corner moves to new spot on Hayes Avenue

What is it: CloftS Corner has moved to its new location at 1304 Hayes Ave. in the former Jimmy John’s location across from Firelands Regional Medical Center. The family owned and operated store has been in business since 2019.

CloftS Corner owners Sheri Sidoti-Lofties and Curtis Lofties Why is it important: The new spot gives owners Sheri Sidoti-Lofties and Curtis Lofties more parking and retail space than its former locations in downtown Sandusky and then the most recent spot on Cleveland Road. CloftS was at its previous location on Cleveland Road for three years.

“Our lease has ended and we were blessed to find an amazing location in the center of town,” Sidoti-Lofties said in a recent email interview. “We were also hoping for a drive-up window and we found everything and more with this location.”

What to find at CloftS: “Our first store was a general store, where we sold generally anything,” Sidoti-Lofties said. “This ranged from groceries and toiletries to home decor and bedding.”

When the business moved to Cleveland Road, the owners focused more on groceries and then added tobacco products and an ice cream parlor featuring Toft’s ice cream. This business plan will carry over to the Hayes Avenue spot, Sidoti-Lofties said.

“Adding the ice cream parlor was a huge boost for business and I'm sure it will do even better with the drive-up window,” she said. “We also wanted to keep the groceries since there is nothing within walking distance of our new location where people can shop.”
