North Coast Young Professionals Week kicks off July 27

What is it: North Coast Young Professionals will connect, lead, and make an impact during Young Professionals (YP) Week July 27-Aug. 4.

The event, according to the NCYP website, is to celebrate “emerging leaders who are making a positive impact where they live.” This is the organization’s flagship event and is full of activities over the eight-day period of networking, professional development, and, of course, fun. Membership is open to professionals in the 21-45 age bracket. The week kicks off with a sunset cruise at 7 p.m. July 27 on the Goodtime I

Other events throughout the week include an entrepreneurship panel with local business owners at Facer Park, a tour of Mucci Farms (an additional registration fee applies), a women in the workforce panel and headshots at 1826 Photographic, and a personal finance and income tax session at Erie County Community Foundation. The week caps off with a retro-themed pool party at Plum Brook Country Club.

A full list of events can be found on the YP Week page on the NCYP website.

Michael Delahunt“YP Week is an exceptional opportunity for young professionals to ignite their potential, expand their networks, and foster personal growth,” says NCYP Chairperson Michael Delahunt. “Through a diverse lineup of events and activities, we aim to empower our attendees with the necessary tools, insights, and connections to thrive in their careers and make a lasting impact in our community.”

Why is it important: Today’s young professions are facing a burnout epidemic, with mounting workloads and declining engagement, according to a recent presentation by members of NCYP. Meaningful work, authentic connections, and continuous growth top the list of priorities for young professionals. By joining NCYP and participating in YP Week, young professionals have the opportunity to grow both socially and professionally, as they can make friends, make a difference, and become a vital part of the Lake Erie Shores & Islands Ohio region.

“At the North Coast Young Professionals, we believe that vibrant communities are built upon the engagement and growth of young professionals,” Delahunt says. “YP Week serves as a catalyst for personal and professional development, connecting ambitious individuals with like-minded peers, industry experts, and valuable resources. Our goal is to create an environment where young professionals can network, learn, and be inspired, ultimately driving their success and contributing to the prosperity of our region.”
