A refreshing new business: Roesch Refresh offers professional organizing services and more

What is it: Chelsea Roesch left the world of retail to follow her passion—helping people organize and declutter their homes or businesses. In just a couple of months since launching Roesch Refresh LLC, she has already helped nearly two dozen clients find a little order.

“My business is mostly around organization and decluttering,” she says. “I help people go through things that, over the years, have piled up. Currently, I’m working on a home where the owner has moved into her late mother’s house and she just had lots of stuff. Every single room was filled to the brim. We go through it, little by little, and talk through it.

“We donate, sell, trash or keep items, and then I pack them up and move them, and then organize them.”

Roesch’s business model is a professional organizer who offers decluttering and cleaning services. She can also help individuals pack for a move and works with people who would be considered hoarders to downsize, or those trying to get into condos or senior living.

“People don’t realize that they sometimes need help,” she says. “Moms get really stressed with disorganized homes and people’s lives are busy, so I put my service out there on Facebook and offered a, ‘Are you feeling stressed?’ sort of thing and, ‘Can I help you in any way?’

“People have been really interested in this, but I don’t think people really know it’s out there. There’s not a lot of organizers in our area.”

What it means: Roesch is very passionate about helping people be more organized. She’s found it to be a bigger issue than one might expect.

“I’m a very structured person and organization is really important to me,” she says. “My business launched with my LLC in September, but I started doing jobs in July while I was still working with my other company. I was just beginning it, but it flew off the charts. It’s only been a couple of months, but its been super successful.”

Roesch will help families pack up their belongings for a move and can be hired to unpack and organize the new living space once the move is complete. Her services have also proven to be invaluable in helping local businesses organize and declutter, saving those firms valuable time and money in the process.

“I helped a business about a year ago, a small coffee shop, and I helped her with her inventory,” Roesch says. “Businesses can get inventory completely a mess at times.”

Roesch Refresh LLC also offers cleaning services.

“I offer cleaning, but a lot of times I go into a home for a cleaning job and it ends up being an organizing job as well,” Roesch says. “My business is based around organizing and decluttering, but I also offer the cleaning aspect of things on the other side.”

She also works with clients on their schedules. Roesch has found that there are times when helping someone declutter becomes an emotional journey.

“I love to go into a house for a week straight, but people don’t like that because it’s overwhelming for them,” she says. “You have to talk them through it. There are times when they only want to work on it two days a week. I’m going through a late mother’s home with an individual, and it’s just an emotional process. It’s not something that can be done real quickly.”

Getting the word out: Roesch hopes to have a new website up and running within a couple of months but has already found success through her Facebook page. Word-of-mouth advertising from satisfied customers also has driven traffic to her business.

“I have put my Facebook business page out there in community group pages and mom pages, and through word-of-mouth,” she says. “I put my business cards out there, too, and I’m working with some realtors for packing and unpacking.”

Roesch Refresh LLC, which is based in Milan, already has collected more than 500 followers and 339 likes in just a couple of months of operation. It also has garnered a 5.0 rating.

“Just getting my name out there has been the biggest thing, and letting people know what it is,” Roesch says. “When something says professional organizing, I think it might scare people away, but I’m super passionate about this. I have a big heart and I really, really care about people.

“Structure is something that is so needed for people to be less stressed and to let them do the things they love the most.”
