Run this town: RUNDUSKY is back

What is it: The City of Sandusky’s Recreation Department and Firelands Health are bringing back the RUNDUSKY Race Series for its fifth year. The nine races, ranging from 5ks to a 70.3 triathlon, give participants a chance to get outside and active throughout the city.

“We are thrilled to have all nine participating races from 2022 returning in 2023,” says Sandusky Recreation Superintendent Jason Werling. “We also added the volunteer options for all events as anyone who runs, walks or volunteers gets a stamp for each event.”

How to get involved: Participation in the series promotion is free. You can download a #RUNDUSKY entry card or pick one up at your first race in the series. Participants must register for each race independently. Prices and registration depend on the event.

Additional information: Those who register or volunteer for four of the nine races will earn a RUNDUSKY Race Series hoodie, and participants who finish five or more events are entered into a drawing for a race package, which includes entry to all 2024 RUNDUSKY events.

Why you should get involved: “The race series is a fun way to get involved, get outside and get healthy throughout the year,” Werling says, “and everyone loves the free hoodie for completing four or more events.”
