Vine & Olive celebrates its 10th anniversary

What is it: It’s time to celebrate with the team at Vine & Olive, as the store celebrates 10 years in business. Vine & Olive, 4917 Milan Road, Sandusky, offers prepared foods and imported products from the Mediterranean. The store has been celebrating with events throughout the month, which will continue until the anniversary open house on Sept. 28.

Market favorites: Owner John Hoty said that after ten years, a best-seller continues to be baklava made from his YiaYia's recipe. Along with baklava, Vine & Olive offers other favorites, including cheesecake, gourmet chocolate, and gelato. 

The market also offers flavored olive oils, balsamic vinegar, sauces, seasonings, and pasta. Market items, such as meats, cheeses, and olives, can be found and many items are imported from the Mediterranean. 

Prepared items, including lamb or chicken gyros, Italian and meatball subs, loaded ribeye sandwiches, Greek salads, and soups also are on the menu.

For those looking for a drink to serve with their meals, guests can visit the Wine Wall, which includes wines from around the world. Wine tastings are every second Friday of the month for $25 per person. A reservation is required by the Wednesday before the event.

"You have to see it to believe it," says store manager Allison Hager, when mentioning all of the available items. 

How to get involved: Anniversary specials and discounts are available all month. For example, Sept. 21, 23, and 30 will feature $5 gyros; seniors will receive 10% off on Sept. 24; desserts are buy one, get one 50% off Sept. 25, while Sept. 26 is buy one, get one 50% off of Stonewall Kitchen Products. 

"We appreciate the support of our customers for the past ten years, we wouldn't be here without you, and we look forward to the next ten years," Hager says.
