Let's toast to the Cheers Trail

What is it: The Cheers Trail gives libation lovers a fun, interactive way to experience breweries, cideries, wineries, and distilleries throughout the North Coast. The trail is available as a free, mobile exclusive that is delivered instantly through text and email and takes participants to 21 spots in the Shores & Islands region.

How to get involved: Using the mobile passport, check in at participating businesses and earn points toward prizes that can be redeemed at Shores & Islands Ohio welcome centers, according to the Shores & Islands website. Prizes can be earned for making qualifying purchases at five or more locations.

To get started, sign up with your phone number or email on the Shores & Islands Ohio website. The mobile passport will be sent to your phone via text or email. There is no app to download and the pass can be saved to your phone’s home screen. When visiting participating locations, make sure your phone’s location services is turned on to check in via GPS so you can check in and earn points toward your prize.

The staff at Twin Oast Brewing, one of the stops on the tour, is excited to be a part of the Cheers Trail, says Marketing Manager Lilliana Cruz.

"We see it as a wonderful chance for both locals and tourists to discover the diverse array of amazing breweries, wineries, and distilleries in our community," Cruz said in a recent email interview. "Welcoming new guests, especially craft beer enthusiasts, to our brewery is equally thrilling for our team. The Trail's dual impact of bolstering local businesses and providing an enjoyable experience for participants will undoubtedly enhance our community."

The 2023 Cheers Trail runs through February 27, 2024. Those who would like to participate must be 21 years of age or older.
